It started with a simple thought 


Skincare shouldn't feel harsh on the skin. Yet choosing a soap had become more about fragrance, foam and promises than about what our skin actually needs. So we set out to create something gentler, calmer and more mindful, and to look at everyday cleansing differently.

"We don't believe more foam means better cleansing. We don't believe a long list of impressive-sounding ingredients makes a product better."

We began with ingredients 

We started with clays, botanicals, oils and butters, and asked one simple question about each of them: why is it here? If an ingredient didn't have a clear role in the bar, it didn't make it in. That question still shapes every e38 formulation today.

 What we don't believe in 

Every skin needs the same soap

It doesn't. That's why we make 10 different bars, each with its own reason to choose it.

More foam means a better clean

It doesn't. A gentle lather can cleanse just as well. You don't need a squeaky, stripped feeling to be clean.

A long ingredient list makes a better product

It doesn't. Impressive-sounding ingredients mean nothing if they have no role in the formulation.

Skincare has to be complicated

It doesn't. We want everyday cleansing to feel simple, mindful and comforting.

A note from our founder 

We wanted to look at everyday cleansing differently. Not by making skincare complicated, but by making the choices more understandable. We believe in purposeful formulation, thoughtful cleansing, and giving people enough information to choose what feels right for them.
