Why does my soap melt faster in the shower?

If your bar turns soft and slippery after a few days, it's not a fault. It's how handmade soap behaves.

Our bars keep their natural glycerin and don't contain hardeners. Glycerin attracts moisture, which is part of why the bars feel gentle. It also means a bar left sitting in water will soften quickly.

Help your bar last longer:

• Keep it on a draining soap dish, not a flat dish where water collects.
• Keep it away from the direct stream of the shower.
• Let it dry fully between uses.
• If you have two bars, rotate them so each one gets time to dry.
• Cut a new bar in half and use one piece at a time.

A well-dried bar lasts much longer, and every wash feels the same as the first.
